The Barcelona City Council is one of the most prominent examples of the use of Drupal in public administrations. It is a great example because many of the web applications that it creates are made in Drupal, and we are really proud that public administrations put their grain of sand using Drupal to improve the daily life of the neighbors, and at the same time saving money on licenses.
In our case, we work in collaboration with Atenea Tech and the Barcelona City Council in consulting for the completion of a neighborhood trading platform. A platform that tries to support neighborhood businesses, giving them greater visibility. The project, which has a strong component of geo-positioning, aims to bring neighborhood commerce closer to the inhabitants of the city.
Our work began with Raval Comercial, although it has been expanding to other neighborhoods such as Sant Pere and Santa Caterina and La Barceloneta, since it is a multi-site platform, where the reuse of the platform is basic.
The website has a very powerful search engine, in addition to offering a classification of the different businesses, and finally a business listing with detailed information. In addition, it is a Responsive platform, with which users have local businesses at the stroke of mobile.
